Dear Friends!
Dear friends,
Amoung others, Romengo also has won the honour to give a concert in the opening ceremony of Womex Gypsy HeartBeats in Budapest, between 21-25 October.
It's not only a possibility for us but also a task as we have the opportunity to show the Hungarian Olah Gypsy music to the public at large, giving a helping hand to other bands operating within this genre.
We are trying to do our best to be a worthy ambassador of the Olah Gypsy music and with our performance, opening international gates which might help other bands to gain advanteges.
Thank you very much for the internationl and Hungarian organizors of Womex and for Hangvető!

We’re working on the new Romengo CD.
We hope it will be available in shops by the end of November 2013. So you don’t need to think too hard now what to buy to your beloved ones for Christmas! ;)
Two types of music – One soul
Water, bread, hands – these are the only words left in common in the language of Hungarian Lakatos Mónika’s and Spanish Juan De Lerida’s and their bands. Together with other gypsy tribes appearing in Europe in the 16th century and then spreading to the four winds, both Móni’s and Juan’s ancestors enriched their music with tunes of surrounding nations. As part of the Spanish and Hungarian cultures they have all along preserved that elemental force and subtlety that captivates lovers of gypsy music even today. This attachment to traditions and musical sincerity are the very things through which these two performing geniuses meet on stage like siblings who have not seen each other for a long time, still feel every vibration of the other. The elegance of Flamenco and the power of Czardas make this unparalleled gypsy duo’s and their bands’ performance exceptional, which aims to bridge the stages of the European continent and their audiences.
In 2013 when Mónika Lakatos was given a lifetime achievement award, the "Parallel Cultural Award 2013" by the Mediawave Foundation, her work and music with Romengo was also honoured and recognised.
